On March 30th Microsoft will begin to deliver the first HoloLens Development Kits to developers in the U.S. and Canada.
We are not yet in the consumer launch phase of the product. At this stage, Microsoft will involve developers who will enrich the applications currently available.
Hololens use lenses and optical projection systems that allow users to generate color multi-dimensional holograms. This virtual technology will project the users in realistic situations.
At this early stage only some games are available but we, as authors, are already excited by the potential development of new tools for the distribution of contents and even holographic books.
In a relatively short time, readers have gone from paper books to electronic and audio books. The new ECM systems and distribution channels have totally changed the world publishing logic.
Now it is not difficult to imagine our novels and stories represented with 3D holograms where our characters will take us into their world of action and adventure!
